Shiny, a powerful & flexible tool to create a Python web app
May 9, 2023
Shiny makes it easy to build interactive web applications with the power of Python’s data and scientific stack. Shiny for Python differs from other frameworks like Streamlit and Dash, because it has tremendous range. You can build a small application in a few minutes with the confidence that the framework can handle much more complex problems. In this workshop we will go through the core limitations of Streamlit, and build a Shiny app which avoids those limitations.
Solving NLP tasks using LLMs (Large Language Models)
May 17, 2023
LLMs have changed what it means to "do natural language processing", opening up the fields to newcomers and beginners. This talk will present some traditional NLP tasks and how they can be fielded using prompting and tools such as GPT-4. Discussion of open source tools (like OpenChatKit) will also be included.

Data-Driven Mathematical Optimization in Pyomo
In this webinar we discuss about Pyomo, an open-source modelling language for mathematical optimization problems in Python. Pyomo is powerful, flexible, open-source, easy to learn, and compatible with other Python packages. It allows users to formulate and solve various optimization problems, including linear programming, nonlinear programming, mixed-integer programming, and many others. This seminar will introduce a collection of fifty Jupyter notebooks demonstrating a wide range of data-driven applications for optimization in Python.
Using Gitpod to Contribute to PyMC
In this session, you will learn how to contribute to PyMC using Gitpod. Gitpod is a browser based development environment helping you to contribute to an opensource project. Gitpod helps you bypass local computer configuration and technical issues, saves time by using pre-configured virtual environments and save space on your local computer
